You come on like a bloodstained hurricane

Okay, so what is a bitter shower? One that scowls at you while muttering how it coulda been a contender hailstorm? Can a shower roll its eyes?

Anthropomorphic weather - bring it on!

Booklist 2008, part 29
42) Neil Gaiman, Neverwhere (London: Headline 2000, ISBN 9780755322800). I said when reviewing Paper Cities that for the most part I didn't feel that its cities were characters in their own stories; Neverwhere's London definitely is, and it is recognisably the London that I know and sometimes hear in my dreams. I found I could get most from the book by reading London Above as London's consciousness and London Below as its subconscious; but even just as a charming fantasy with deliberately rough edges, it's a great book.

The familial's came round last night and everything was going fine until the pain in the arse that is my cousin decided to sit on my lap and managed to once again knock my dodgy knee out of joint.  It's back in now (which was a fun few seconds *sarcastic voice*) but it still hurts like hell and I can't really bend it so I'm currently curled up in the armchair with a pillow tucked under my knee and my nice heat-pad wrapped around it with no plans to do much of anything at all today.

the blizzard has ended, the sun has come out, its actually a lovely day. I'm getting through my to-do list, but I'm totally 'meh' about life today ;( Someone come talk to me, cheer me up. Q+A, gossip, news, whatever, just lay it on me!

Journey's End
It can be summed up in two words:

EPIC FAIL

Really, RTD, couldn't you have come up with something better? It had one or two cute parts, but otherwise...

If you want to hear why then go to my post here. I'm lazy and don't want to re-type everything. ^_^

*sigh*
Oh, I love Roman Holiday *sigh* It makes me go all girly. Very, very girly. Thank you ABC2, for showing that again *loves that movie*

Now I'm watching Casablanca - I haven't seen this for ages! Such a brilliant movie.

EDIT: I love this movie! Also, very much loving the Dorothy L. Sayers "Lord Peter Whimsey" stories.

I may have finally joined the 1940's. What? This is a big step up from my normal "We're all still Edwardian" ethos XD

And... is it Saturday in England yet????? PLEASE?
